2007-08 Season

The Giants need to have a stronger season if they want to keep their coach. New York ticket buyers can expect their team to rebuild a bit, and hold on for an up and down season. Eli Manning is definitely not the franchise QB his brother is. Chris Snee and Shaun O’Hara will be good news for Manning. Reuben Droughns was brought in as an insurance RB. Amani Toomer is the best receiver on this team, and Plaxico Burress is very talented.  So the elements are there, but the holes in the OL remain – and the Giants hope their coach remains as well. Stay tuned for an exciting - if not dramatic -season.

Previous Seasons

In the 2006 off-season, the New York Giants made a number of moves to help improve their team. Unlike some teams that had been letting players go during this free agency period, they have been going out and looking to bring guys in to better their team. The team’s biggest move was the pick up of wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Burress is a big time possession receiver that can make the tough catch in traffic. The only problem with Burress is that he hasn’t been very consistent to this point in his career. He was very hot and cold during his stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Giants officials are hoping that having a strong-armed quarterback like Eli Manning around will make him a little more consistent.

Another boost to the offense should be the Giants newly acquired right tackle Kareem McKenzie who was last with the New York Jets. McKenzie will be one of the keys to the offensive line. He measures out at 6’6” and 327 lbs and is just getting ready to make the jump into the prime of his career at the ripe age of 26. He should help out a team that had countless offensive line problems last season.
